Offering a vintage 1940's Model A Crystal Bullet Microphone by Astatic. Astatic's roots go way back to 1933, started by two amateur radio operators. By by the late 1930's, their Model A microphone became part of the ASTATIC MICROPHONE LAB'S early offerings. (In 1944 they simplified the company name to The Astatic Corporation.) The Model A is the predecessor to the company's wildly popular JT-30, both identical in design.

This Model A has undergone a complete restoration in keeping with the original "Brown Bullet" theme, new paint, and a Japanese Crown crystal element to replace the original which was long dead. The audio is in keeping with most other crystals, mid-range dominant with low freq roll-off. (Check the voice sample in the listing video.) The front chrome grill is in great shape with no pitting or discoloration and new black screen cloth. While the later JT-30 has a Switchcraft screw-on connector, these Model A cables were hardwired, as is this one, with a newer 7 foot cable terminating with a 1/4" male phono plug. Also included is an original Astatic wooden handle with original paint. ** Always fair prices, fair shipping, great service! We offer combined shipping when making multiple purchases.**
