It’s a super cool guitar. It’s one I’ve always wanted. But I’ve had my eye on some other things that are exactly as much as this is worth. So I’m throwing it back into the well of gear here on Reverb.

The purchase was a classic Reverb story. Late night, maybe a bit too much to drink, a bit more cocksure than usual with the offers, you offer at the edge of where you think the seller might bite… and they did. So I woke up in the morning with a mild hangover and a Wandre. All good though.

This Thing Rules. It’s very rare and it’s a great price compared to other Wandre guitars. The is mostly due to the new tuning heads and the headstock "shim" , but the way that the professional seller did the work is super solid—it's a piece of acrylic, which perfectly matches the vibe of guitar. Only the other big deal is that vibrato arm is conspicuously missing and likely will remain so. The tailpiece is likely not original as well. These things are rare as hens teeth, so the parts are even rarer.

Otherwise, I just want to mention that while this looks like an art piece — it is, in fact — and most art guitars don't play well, this one is surprisingly comfortable and even more surprisingly GREAT sounding. The single pickup is warm and articulate, not flat and dead like you might think. The neck is weird, for sure, with the metal hump in the center, but it ended up being more comfortable to play than I thought. Again, I didn't buy this for a gigging rig, more for fun and because I've played so many over the years that I wanted one in my collection. Could you gig with it though? Absolutely. Just for the right gig. Otherwise, you're buying a piece of guitar history made by an absolute maniac of an artist.

Feel free to ask questions, happy to report on anything you see in more detail if you’re a serious buyer.

I have a soft case for it. Nothing special, but it'll work. But you know, you're going to put it on the wall anyway.

I pack and ship like a pro and shipping is included in my price
