This Prophet comes from a private collector here in Nashville. It has been in a climate controlled, smoke-free studio for many years. Owner had it restored and serviced back in 2018. At that time, they added a Kenton MIDI retrofit. We went through the entire synth, performing necessary repairs, maintenance, and most importantly - performed a pain-staking calibration of EVERYTHING. It was clear that the last tech did not calibrate this properly, or just neglected the more complex calibrations.

This synth is in beautiful condition for its age. It's not mint, but overall in very good to excellent condition, with only minor cosmetic issues. The face is near MINT with all the silkscreen intact. Knobs look great, but aren't perfect. They can be replaced with modern copies reasonably, if that's an issue. The most notable imperfection, is a small chip missing from the right side panel. The wheel assembly is also missing some silkscreen. There are some tiny dings in the front spreader and the rear spreader. Only noticeable if you rub your finger across them. Badges look amazing. Overall, this is a solid 9 out of 10.

SERVICING:

It appears that the previous shop replaced all bushings and (mostly) leveled the keybed. We finished the job correctly.

They also serviced the PSU and replaced the caps, regulators and installed a quiet transformer (no buzz).

Kenton MIDI kit installed. We fully tested it and it works great. Far superior to the stock factory MIDI in the rev 3.3. I own a 3.3 with MIDI and it sucks compared to the Kenton. I've been enjoying playing this Prophet from my weighted controlled, and bringing in the LFO with aftertouch and controlling the filter with a foot pedal while playing pads. Amazing. There is also less lag with the Kenton. Fast and very musical.

We repaired a couple of broken J-wires, and cleaned the bus bars once again. Keyboard plays perfect and is very responsive.

ALL CALIBRATIONS WERE PERFORMED. Filter tuning and scaling were WAY off. Still had the Loctite goop on most of the trim pots from the factory. VCAs and all envelope generator trims were properly and painstakingly calibrated. The full calibration took days - as it would change slightly when the unit heated and cooled.

Unit has been burning in and is still being tested. So far....amazing. So much fun to play. Accept no substitute. No modern SMT copy or plug-in comes close to the OG!
