This is an Epiphone Jack Casady bass that I've had since 2011. Its a phenomenal bass that I really don't want to get rid of, but hasn't seen any serious play in a couple years. If you know, you know, but for those unaware of this bass, its a hollowbody 34" scale bass with a mahogany block running through the center to help prevent feedback. It also has a low-impedance humbucker with a varitone that adjusts the output impedance of the pickup (the lower setting is very "acoustic" while the highest setting sounds great with a pick), does the p-bass vibe very well.

I gigged with this bass extensively when I had first bought it, unfortunately in my youth I never saw a reason to give it up so I did not take as good of care of it as I probably should have. Here are some things to make note of:

  • I took the pickguard off when I got it, as well as the truss rod cover...I don't recall where either is
  • I used an old knob from a record player on the varitone switch, I can easily replace this with a chicken head knob.
  • there are various scratches and scuffs on the finish, I tried to document the ones I found but if you want additional photos let me know.
  • I have never cleaned the tuners or the bridge and as a result they look a little funky but otherwise still work.
  • The tuner rings and the bridge postings look like they're getting pulled out a little but are otherwise fine and stable
  • Truss rod still works perfectly fine, bass is currently strung up with pyramid flats
  • I do not have a hardshell case. It has been lost long ago.
  • The neck has been sanded down a few times, just enough to get rid of that sticky lacquer feel.
