Rare Left-Handed 1978 Greco EG700 Les Paul-Style Beast in Jet Black – Vintage Rock Vibes Awaits!
Lefties, rejoice! This isn't just any guitar—it's a 1978 Greco EG700 L, a southpaw sensation straight from Japan's golden era of guitar craftsmanship. Built during the infamous "lawsuit" period when Japanese makers like Greco outshone the originals, this EG700 is a faithful homage to the iconic Gibson Les Paul Standard, but with that elusive left-handed configuration that's as rare as a flawless gig. Finished in a deep, mysterious black that screams stage presence, this axe has been loved hard and played even harder, boasting authentic playwear that tells tales of countless riffs, solos, and sweat-soaked nights under the lights.
Body and Build: Solid as a Rock, Tone for Days
Crafted at the legendary Fujigen factory, the EG700 features a classic single-cutaway mahogany body topped with a carved maple cap for that signature sustain and warmth. The set-in mahogany neck feels like an extension of your hand—slim yet substantial, with a comfortable C-shaped profile that's perfect for shredding or soulful bends. The rosewood fretboard sports 22 medium-jumbo frets, bound with cream accents for a touch of elegance, and those block inlays guide your fingers through every scale like a pro. At 24.75" scale length, it's got that familiar Les Paul bite, delivering chunky rhythms and soaring leads with effortless playability.
Electronics: Pure Vintage Fire
Under the hood, dual humbucking U-2000 pickups (original Maxon-made beasts) capture every nuance—from creamy cleans to growling overdrive. Wired through independent volume and tone controls with a 3-way toggle switch, you can dial in everything from jazz warmth to metal mayhem. The hardware shines too: a sturdy Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece ensure rock-solid intonation, while the open-book headstock with Grover-style tuners keeps you locked in tune, even during the wildest dives.
Condition: Battle-Tested Beauty with Character
This black beauty shows its history proudly—plenty of honest playwear on the back from years of strap rubs and stage leans, plus some lighter dings and scratches on the front that add to its road-worn vibe. It also has some gouging that has been touched up with black paint by the tail piece & some sanding on the top of the back of the headstock. (see pics) No cracks, no major issues; just natural relic-ing that enhances its vintage allure without compromising performance. The frets have life left, the truss rod adjusts smoothly, and the electronics are flawless—ready to plug in and roar. It's not mint; it's real, the kind of guitar that inspires stories and sounds even better for the miles it's traveled.
Why This Greco?
In a world of mass-produced planks, this left-handed EG700 stands out as a collector's dream and player's delight. Grecos from '78 are hailed for their superior build quality, often rivaling (or surpassing) their American counterparts at a fraction of the cost. Whether you're channeling Page's swagger, Slash's slash, or crafting your own legend, this guitar delivers that elusive "mojo" with punchy mids, fat lows, and sparkling highs. Perfect for rock, blues, hard rock, or anything that demands soul and sustain.
Don't let this lefty legend slip away—it's a time capsule of tone waiting for its next chapter. Serious inquiries only; contact now to make it yours and unleash the beast! 🎸🔥

Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
