About This Listing

Up for sale, a 2012 Gretsch G6122-1962 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman in mint condition, complete with the hardshell case, certificate, case candy and the original shipping box. This guitar is virtually unplayed and in showroom condition with White Falcon-esque cosmetic appointments. This is one of the most visually alluring and elegant modern Gretsch guitars, and this particular model was produced in extremely limited numbers and is no longer available new from the manufacturer.  Acoustically, the guitar sings with a striking piano-like clarity and tonal balance, and the dynamic, touch sensitive response of the instrument translates well through the Filter'Tron pickups.  For sparkle, twang and detail, it's hard to beat TV Jones' take on the iconic Filter'Tron for authentic Gretsch tones.  The 17" body delivers a very full and focused bass response, and few 6122s are as expertly crafted as this particular iteration! Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and currently strung with 11-50 strings, this Country Gentleman plays effortlessly with low, comfortable action.
From driving rhythm to ripping leads, the classic double-cutaway G6122-1962 Country Gentleman Classic does it all. Features include dual High Sensitive Filter’Tron pickups courtesy of boutique Gretsch pickup manufacturer TV Jones, three-piece maple neck, ebony fingerboard with Neo Classic thumbnail inlays, back pad, gold plexi pickguard, gold-plated hardware, and Bigsby B6 vibrato tailpiece. This particular reissue also boasts individual bass and treble side string mutes, activated by the two large knurled knobs on either side of the Bigsby.
On the body, all of the electronics work as they should, with standard Gretsch controls featuring individual pickup and tone toggles, a Master Volume control and individual Volumes for each pickup, with a kill swich three-way toggle (on/off/on) located just south of the bridge pickup Volume control.  The gold hardwear is flawless, with a lustrous sheen on the pickup covers, roller bridge, knobs and Bigsby B6 vibrato tailpiece.  The Gretsch bar bridge with ebony base allows for very smooth action on the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, suitable for surfy shimmies or deeper dives with ease.  Cosmetically, the guitar shows virtually no wear and while we'll still call this guitar "near mint," it's simply showroom clean and a stunning, nigh flawless example of one of Gretsch's most iconic models.

The guitar will ship in its original Gretsch shipping box.
