Amazing One of a Kind Masterbuilt P-Bass by one of the most sought after luthiers / craftsmen - Ron Thorn! Very cool custom Inlay at the 12th Fret by Ron Thorn which pays homage to the address 7425 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, formerly known as the Granada Theatre and later the Oriental Theatre, which has a rich history as a movie palace and performance venue. It opened in 1921 and was a prominent landmark on Sunset Boulevard for decades. In the 1980s, the theater was gutted and incorporated into the original Guitar Center in Hollywood (since 1959) currently located at 7425 Sunset Boulevard! This bass was part of a special project that was commissioned by Guitar Center for the Sunset Blvd and the Santa Cruz Guitar Center locations. The project involved a Strat, Tele and Bass for both stores. Matching themes, but not matching artwork. For the Hollywood store bass, Ron and Pamelina agreed on something with a nostalgic feel and Pamelina created the artwork. Truly an amazing opportunity to own a exclusive piece of the amazing artwork of Pamelina H.! She is a world famous artist who specializes in painting guitars. She started out as a comic book artist in her teens and was a professional illustrator by the age of 17. She began painting guitars in the 1980s for a guitar shop near San Francisco, this led to work with many well known rock bands. She started working with the Fender Custom Shop in 1989 - an ongoing collaboration which produced the Hendrix Strat, the Harley Strat, the Marilyn Monroe Strat amongst others. She has also painted guitars for Gibson, Ibanez, Jackson, Gretsch, Charvel, Hamer, Roscoe and others...add these two artists together, and you get a Custom Bass Guitar collaboration like no other! The Hollywood graphic invites you to step back in time to the glory days of Hollywood with vintage cars and famous buildings from the golden era of tinsel town! The photorealistic image and vintage postcard theme mixes a vintage vibe, with modern musical mastery!

I love the way the artwork makes the pickups blend into the image and look almost invisable!

One minor cosmetic scuff on the back of the body (not really noticeable) near the top of the hip (photo included), but still very much excellent condition....

The body is Bass Alder with a 59 P-Bass Body Style. Complete with Custom Fender 59 pickups. Quarter Sawn neck with Urethane finish. The tuning keys are vintage style nickel NOS.
