We are selling this Ibanez model AR 75-BS-12-05 and serial number S12010426. This guitar is in great condition with minor scratches on the pickguard. The guitar alone weighs 6 lb 1.7 oz and inside the case the total weight is 16 lb 0.5 oz.
This is part an estate more than 70 guitars I just received from a great player and friend, who I fondly remember most for his positive sunny attitude even though he had health problems. He was told more than 30 years ago that he had less than a year to live without heart surgery. They have improved a lot from then. He looked into the recovery and extended life and opted out. His health got worse the past few years and he didn’t get around so he purchased guitars. The following was the description he wrote:
The Ibanez AG75 Artcore is a highly praised, budget-friendly, full hollowbody jazz guitar known for excellent value, classic looks, and versatility for jazz, blues, and rock, offering rich acoustic tone for practice and warm amplified sounds from its ceramic pickups, though some suggest upgrading pickups for serious players. Reviewers love its comfortable, compact feel, solid craftsmanship (especially for the price), and surprising unplugged volume, making it a favorite for performers on a budget.
Pros:
·Value: Delivers great quality and features for its low price point, often compared favorably to more expensive brands.
·Sound: Produces warm, woody, full-hollowbody tones, great for jazz and blues, handling drive well without excessive feedback.
·Versatility: Functions well both plugged in and unplugged, offering a good acoustic practice option.
·Playability: Features a comfortable, fast-playing neck and a smaller, manageable body size compared to traditional archtops.
·Craftsmanship: Surprisingly good build quality, often with professional-feeling fretwork.
Cons:
·Pickups: Stock pickups (ACH1 & ACH2) are good but some reviewers suggest upgrading for better performance, noting they sound best with some distance from strings.
·Fret Issues: Some instances of fret buzz (e.g., on the 12th fret) have been reported, though often fixable.
·Case: Does not come with a case.
Overall:
The Ibanez AG75 is an excellent choice for beginners or budget-conscious players seeking an authentic hollowbody experience, offering fantastic tone and playability for the money. While some purists might prefer higher-end models or upgrades, it stands out as a highly recommended starter or gigging guitar in its price bracket.
