1953 D’Angelico New Yorker.

Very Good Overall Condition (See All Photos).

Original Sunburst Finish Is Intact And Shows Considerable Wear From Many Years Of Playing And Use (See Photos).

All Original With Original Parts Except For A Correct Mirabella Engraved Pickguard. The Bridge, Tailpiece, Grover Imperial Tuners, Pickguard Mounting Bracket, And Strap Button Are The Same Ones That It Left D’Angelico’s Shop With In 1953. It Also Has All Of The Original Pearl Inlay Intact.

There Are A Few Small Spots Of Binding Decay That Have Not Advanced In The Numerous Years That I Have Owned This Guitar And They Are Shown In The Listing Photos.

The Neck Has A Very Comfortable “C” Shape Profile (Full, But Not A Baseball Bat). The Neck Depth Measures .90” At The 1st Fret And 1.00“ At The 10th And The Nut Width Measures 1.62” (1&9/16”).

A Perfect Refret With Has Been Performed And The Condition Of The Frets Remains Excellent With No Pitting Or Playing Issues.

A Very Small Hairline Crack Under The Pickguard Was Professionally Sealed.

The Guitar Plays Particularly Well With Very Low Action Measuring 2.5mm On The Bass Side At The 12th Fret And 2mm On the Treble Side.

Sonically, It Is Warm And Full Sounding With Lots Of Projection, Volume, And Punch As A Result From The X-Braced Top Construction, Yet It Is Also Extraordinarily Balanced With All Notes Played Anywhere On The Fingerboard Producing The Same Volume. This Can be Seen And Heard On A Link To A Video Of It Being Played Provided In This Listing.

The Original Case Is Worn And Matches The Condition Of The Guitar, But Remains Fully Functional With All Latches And Hinges Intact And Operational.
