Some guitars just feel right the moment you plug in. The 2020 PRS McCarty 594 in Charcoal Burst is one of them — a USA-made instrument that bridges the warmth of vintage PAF tone with the refined playability that PRS has spent decades perfecting.

The carved maple top over a mahogany body gives this guitar its signature voice: rich and resonant in the low end, clear and articulate up top, with a natural sustain that rewards both rhythm playing and lead work. The mahogany neck in PRS's Pattern Vintage profile sits comfortably in the hand — slightly fuller than modern profiles, with just enough mass to feel substantial without fatigue. Paired with a rosewood fingerboard and PRS bird inlays, it's a guitar that looks as good as it sounds.

At the heart of this McCarty are the PRS 58/15 LT humbuckers — voiced to capture the open, airy character of late-'50s PAF pickups. The two volume and two push/pull tone controls with a three-way toggle give you a wide tonal palette: from thick, full humbucker warmth to glassy, convincing single-coil textures without ever feeling thin or brittle.

The 24.594" scale length — PRS's nod to the classic Gibson scale — contributes to the guitar's easy string tension and vintage feel, while the two-piece stoptail bridge and precision hardware deliver exceptional tuning stability and dynamic response night after night.

The Charcoal Burst finish is understated and elegant — a guitar that commands attention without demanding it.

This example has been professionally inspected and set up by our in-house team at VERA Guitars, so it arrives ready to play at its absolute best.
