The MXR EP101 Echoplex Preamp ($159.99) is a compact pedal that recreates the iconic, tone-sweetening preamp circuit of the vintage Maestro EP-3 tape delay. It features a single gain knob offering up to +11dB of boost, adding organic grit at high settings. It uses FET circuitry, features true bypass, and operates on 9V power.
