The Boss DS-1 with HGWFx Pumpkin Pro Mod is a professionally upgraded classic distortion pedal, hand-modified by Hatch Guitar Works to transform the iconic orange box from its stock fuzzy, noisy, and fizzy character into a crisp, high-gain powerhouse with massive clarity, tighter response, and pro-level aggression—making it sound bigger, meaner, and far more usable in modern rigs.

The original Boss DS-1 has been a staple since 1978, delivering raw, aggressive distortion that's powered punk, metal, and rock tones for decades. But stock units often suffer from excessive fizz in the highs, mud in the lows, high noise levels, and limited usable gain—issues that stand out in high-output pickups, quiet settings, or stacked pedals.

The HGWFx Pumpkin Pro Mod tackles these flaws with a full circuit overhaul: premium low-noise components throughout the signal path, carefully selected op-amps, optimized gain staging, tighter filtering, and refined clipping for smoother, more articulate saturation. This turns your DS-1 into a high-fidelity distortion beast—capable of tight rhythm crunch, wailing leads with endless sustain, and everything in between—while slashing the noise floor and eliminating that harsh top-end ice-pick.

Key Benefits of the HGWFx Pumpkin Pro Mod on Boss DS-1:
- Crisp, defined high-gain tone— Replaces fuzzy saturation with tight, aggressive distortion that retains excellent note clarity, pick attack, and harmonic richness.
- Significantly reduced noise — Dramatically lowers hiss and background noise for cleaner performance at any gain setting, ideal for studio or live use.
- Improved dynamics and sustain — Feels more amp-like and responsive, with longer, singing sustain and better touch sensitivity that reacts to your playing.
- Enhanced low-end punch and midrange presence — Fixes the stock's scooped/muddy response for thicker, more musical tones that cut through mixes without mud.
- Boutique build quality — Precision component upgrades, expert soldering, and HGWFx craftsmanship ensure road-ready durability and consistent tone.

This modded DS-1 keeps the legendary orange enclosure, simple Distortion/Tone/Level controls, and unbreakable Boss reliability—but delivers performance that rivals (or surpasses) boutique distortions costing far more. Whether you're dialing in '80s thrash bite, modern metal tightness, soaring solos, or versatile dirt for any style, the Boss DS-1 with HGWFx Pumpkin Pro Mod is your secret weapon for pro-grade gain without compromise.
