The Hiwatt Filter Fuzz MKII Black is the Custom Shop's tone-obsessed take on your favorite classic '60s fuzz circuits. Designed through a collaboration between two Hiwatt Custom Shop heavyweights, this pedal aims to offer old-school, all-analog sensibility while providing an extended gain and frequency range. At its core, it is a historical nod to the iconic 1969 sounds produced on the album Grand Funk. That legendary "free-love" moment between a Musicraft Messenger guitar and a Heathkit Fuzz served as the tone-chasing inspiration for this pedal's highly unique filter section.

Beyond classic vintage fuzz tones, the Filter Fuzz MKII is highly capable of dialing in modern, aggressive sounds. It features a highly interactive "Thick" control that dictates the amount of bass entering the fuzz circuit—perfect for tightening up wooly humbuckers or adding massive girth to thin single coils. Paired with a three-way bypassable filter that emphasizes specific frequencies going into the fuzz to push boosted gain, wild octaves, and gating effects, this pedal is a highly tweakable gain machine. It even includes an internal bias control for further under-the-hood tonal shaping!
