@423-403-6645. Excellent+ near mint condition. It's highly unlikely you've played a D-28 able to hang with this monster. A fantastic build from Martin! The equivalent to holding thunder in your lap. This is a never registered 2026 model that was formerly only available in Martin's Custom Shop. Built with a 13% larger body able to generate 20% more air volume. These will cost you around $4400 after taxes with most dealers. This one still has the tags hanging on it!
An additional benefit worth mentioning is the fact that we have also mechanically aged this guitar with over $500 in aging devices with fantastic results making it even louder with much better tone. Both the Tone Rite vibration unit and the Tone Traveler Bluetooth speaker have been used for over 340 total hours, opening it up nicely. These devices work well on newer guitars still stiff from brand new woods making for significant and noticeable results. If you aren't familiar, research the devices because they definitely work. Note: the aging was done subsequent to being in the attached video at our luthier's shop this past February - meaning the guitar only sounds better now.
* Martin Super D History
The Martin Super HD-28 is a 2026 addition to Martin's Standard Series, expanding the iconic HD-28 into a larger "Super D" body size. It is designed for players seeking the traditional rosewood dreadnought tone but with significantly increased volume, projection, and low-end depth. The excitement surrounding the Super HD-28 stems from its transition from a rare Custom Shop offering to a more accessible Standard Series model.
* Unmatched Projection: The larger body is reported to produce up to 12 dB more volume than standard models, making it the "pinnacle of unplugged power".
* Thunderous Bass: Reviewers at Alamo Music and Sweetwater emphasize a "larger-than-life" bass response that is deep and resonant without becoming immediately muddy.
* Bluegrass "Cannon": It is specifically hyped as an ideal instrument for bluegrass jam sessions where players need to be heard over banjos and mandolins without amplification.
* Responsive Headroom: Despite its size, testers note it remains responsive to light playing while offering massive headroom for aggressive strumming.
* Solo Performance Tool: Its full frequency range and "J200-like" feel make it a popular choice for solo singer-songwriters who require a room-filling acoustic voice.
