Own a piece of Hohner’s "Golden Age." This late 1930s Pre-War Student II was made in Trossingen, Germany, and carries the soulful, harmonically rich tone that modern student accordions lack.
The Good:
- Freshly Tuned: Unlike most vintage finds, this accordion has been opened and tuned. It is 100% playable and ready for the stage or studio.
- New Grill Cloth: The front has been refreshed with new cloth for a clean, classic look.
- Tight Bellows: Excellent compression. No air leaks.
- Lightweight: At approx. 8 lbs, it is the perfect "travel box" for folk or busking.
The Vintage "Character" (Please Read):
- Keyboard: Two of the treble keys have minor chips at the very tips (see photos). This is purely cosmetic and does not affect fingering or playability.
- Body: As is common with 85-year-old celluloid (acetate), there is some minor lifting/looseness in spots. It is stable but shows its age.
- Honest Wear: This accordion has lived a life. It has the scuffs and "battle scars" of a true pre-war instrument.
Why this Hohner? You can find "cheaper" ones, but you'll spend $300+ at a shop just to get them in tune. This one has already been serviced and is ready to play the day it arrives.
Shipping: I am an experienced accordion shipper. The bass will be blocked and the unit double-boxed for safety.
(Note: Please refer to photos for exact cosmetic condition, and feel free to message me with any questions!)
