Vintage “The Gibson” Style 1 Soprano Ukulele
I am presently offering for sale this vintage Gibson Style 1 soprano ukulele made of solid mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. The “The Gibson” label is clearly visible. From what I read, the instrument dates from the late 1920’s to the early 1930s.
Specs:
- All mahogany construction
- 6-5/16" body width
- Rosewood 12-fret, 13-5/8" scale fingerboard
- Rope pattern sound hole rosette
- "The Gibson" logo silkscreened on the headstock
- Ebony nut (1-3/8" width) and saddle
- Small dot inlays
- No binding
- Fretboard markers at the 5th, 7th, and 10th frets
- Original mechanical friction tuners with white buttons
This ukulele has no major issues. There are the usual dings, scrapes, boo-boos and a couple of hard-to-see hairlines which I have tried to photograph and the bridge is obviously a bit worn, but for a vintage instrument that is pushing 100 years old, it is in pretty good shape, stable and playable as is.
Please research this instrument, study the photos carefully, and ask all questions before purchasing.
Note: We ship only to the lower 48 States.
