An early Mod Shop Jazzmaster – and a lefty! Fabulous condition, in vibrant 3-tone Sunburst over Ash!
Pure Vintage '65
With a highly Brazilian looking Rosewood fingerboard, (every bit of Rosewood that we’ve seen on Mod Shop instruments has been of Custom Shop grade), this thing looks, feels and plays like an original 1965 model. Obviously the Michael Franks designed V-Mod Jazzmaster pickups play a part in this, but it’s more a case of the sum of the parts adding up to one simply awesome guitar.

As shown on the accompanying Fender build sheet, (pic # 6), the Maple neck has what’s rapidly become one of the most popular neck profiles available on modern instruments – a graduated C to D, which feels fantastic in your hand. Also worth noting is the Ash body, which is now only available on select Custom Shop models. (The remaining specs are all listed on the sheet)
Spooky tone
The Seattle girl who previously owned this 2018 model played it with 9s, which were still on it when we took the photos. We have since replaced those with a set of 11s, so that you now get the full “spooky tone” Jazzmaster experience!
