Up for sale is my 2024 Gibson Custom Shop ’57 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue VOS, one of the finest examples from the Gibson Custom Shop.

It’s extremely resonant, rich, warm and dynamic — everything you’d expect from Gibson’s Custom Shop.

Condition, Provenance & Why the Modern Custom Shop Era Commands a Premium: 

This instrument is in absolute pristine, perfectly preserved, modern-specs and showroom-perfect condition. It has been strictly and lightly played only at home, has zero gigging wear, and is 100% completely original down to the last screw. Built at the Gibson Custom Shop in 2024 and purchased new in 2025, it comes complete with its original Lifton-style hard case, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) booklet, and all factory case candy. 

Please note that this sits in a completely superior specification tier compared to pre-owned Goldtops built before 2019. 

Following the post-2019 Custom Shop overhaul, modern historic reissues inherited the core structural DNA of the legendary 2015 True Historic series as factory standard. This includes:

• Ultra-thin historic-depth nitrocellulose finish: It delivers phenomenal vintage accuracy without the inflated premium price tag.

• Unpotted Custombucker Alnico 3 Pickups: Built to replicate legendary late-'50s PAFs with astonishing accuracy. These provide unparalleled dynamic bite, clarity, and open harmonic chime compared to the older Burstbuckers or '57 Classics used in previous decades. 

• Luxe Reissue "Bumblebee" Capacitors: Gibson switched to 100% accurate, paper-in-oil (PIO) replica Bumblebee capacitors made by Luxe. Pre-2019 models used generic Gibson-branded capacitors disguised with a faux Bumblebee plastic shell over a modern film cap.

• True Vintage Audio Taper Pots: Gibson partnered with CTS to design custom-taper potentiometers that mimic the exact resistance sweep of 1950s pots. Rolling back the volume or tone control on a 2019 model feels smooth and usable across the entire 1-10 dial, whereas pre-2019 pots could have abrupt drop-offs. 

• Premium Hot Hide Glue Construction: Historically accurate hot hide glue was used exclusively to join the Maple top to the lightweight Mahogany body, as well as to seat the long-tenon neck joint. This organic, period-correct method delivers vastly superior acoustic resonance over modern synthetic glues. 

• Historic Materials & Structural Integrity: Features highly accurate molecular-level vintage-formulation plastics, true cellulose nitrate trapezoid fretboard inlays, a period-correct Royalite binding trim, and an entirely un-sleeved truss rod layout (completely removing the tonal compression caused by the rubber truss rod tubing found on pre-2013 Gibson builds).

Condition: Used - very good– a player LP with one or two tiny marks. This has been played for one year only in studio.

Neck Profile Shape: Chunky/Rounded "C"-shape.

• Thickness Range: Typically measures around 0.90" at the 1st fret and 1.01" at the 12th fret, offering a substantial, authentic vintage hand-feel without being as massive as a 1958 "baseball bat" neck.
• Fingerboard Material: One-piece Indian rosewood with aged cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays.
• Frets: 22 historic narrow/tall frets (or medium-jumbo variants depending on exact spec runs).
• Nut Width: 1-11/16" (approx. 43 mm). 
• Scale Length: 24.75".
