Forty years into its mission, PRS isn’t looking back—it’s pushing deeper into the cosmos. The PRS 40th Anniversary Special Semi-Hollow in Faded Whale Blue is a limited-run celebration piece that blends historic design cues with forward-thinking versatility, built for players who want it all and then some.

Limited to just 280 instruments worldwide, this Special Semi-Hollow is a rare sighting. An artist-grade figured maple top ignites beneath the Faded Whale Blue finish, while the black limba back and neck and Honduran rosewood fretboard and headstock veneer add richness, warmth, and unmistakable elegance. The semi-hollow body with a single f-hole introduces air and dimension to every note—open, resonant, and alive.

At the heart of this guitar is one of the most flexible pickup layouts PRS has ever launched into orbit. McCarty III humbuckers in the bass and treble positions flank a proprietary PRS Narrowfield in the middle, all controlled by a 5-way blade and two mini-toggle coil taps. That adds up to twelve distinct pickup combinations, with remarkably even volume across humbucking and single-coil voices. Roll the tone back for growl and gravity, open it up for shimmer and sparkle—it’s a full tonal galaxy at your fingertips.

Classic PRS playability anchors the experience: a 25” scale, 22 frets, 10” radius, and Pattern neck shape deliver comfort and precision whether you’re cruising rhythm parts or blazing trails up the fretboard. Vintage-inspired details like the “Old School” bird inlays and the “Pre-Factory” eagle headstock inlay tip the hat to PRS’s earliest days, while modern hardware keeps everything rock-solid.

This commemorative model is more than a guitar—it’s a milestone. Each instrument includes a hand-signed 40th Anniversary certificate, marking its place in PRS history and your own sonic journey.
