It features 6-voice polyphony and a variable sampling rate from 4 kHz to 32 kHz, providing between 1 and 8 seconds of sample time. Unlike later models, it has no submenus; all editing for start, end, and loop points is done via dedicated front-panel sliders, allowing for real-time manipulation and unique effects like instant reversing.
