This is a genuine vintage DeArmond volume pedal from the mid-to-late 1960s, produced during the Rowe/DeArmond era when manufacturing was based in Toledo, Ohio. DeArmond was one of the early pioneers in guitar electronics, and these heavy cast-aluminum volume pedals became a staple for guitarists, pedal steel players, and organists throughout the 1960s and early 1970s.

This pedal features the classic hammertone black finish, gear-driven mechanical sweep, and labeled “INST” and “AMP” 1/4" jacks. The internal casting is marked “PA 650B,” which is a mold/casting number. The construction and mechanism match the well-known 1602-style DeArmond design.
