1990 Fender Custom Shop '62 Reissue Stratocaster Rare Gold Sparkle Finish (81)
Offered for your consideration is an exceptionally rare 1990 Fender Custom Shop ’62 Reissue Stratocaster, custom ordered in a stunning Gold Sparkle finish. Instruments from this era of the Custom Shop are already highly collectible, but examples finished in Gold Sparkle are virtually unheard of. To the best of my knowledge, this is one of only a couple ever produced in this finish.
The guitar is in very good used condition, showing only light signs of honest play wear consistent with a well-cared-for vintage instrument. The finish presents beautifully and absolutely commands attention under stage lights. The only notable cosmetic detail is some gold flaking on the back of the neck plate, which is common for gold-plated hardware of this age and purely cosmetic.
Tonally, this Strat delivers exactly what you’d hope for from an early Custom Shop build. The original Custom Shop pickups sound fantastic — clear, articulate, and dynamic, with rich harmonic content and excellent sustain. Whether you’re after classic vintage chime, bluesy warmth, or punchy rock tones, this guitar responds effortlessly.
Playability is outstanding. The neck feels comfortable and fast, the action is set low, and there is little to no fret wear, making this a superb player as well as a collectible piece.
If you’re looking for a Stratocaster that stands apart from the crowd — both visually and sonically — this is a truly special example.
Comes with the original hard case, COA, and all case candy shown. (81)

Condition, Shipping, & Setup Details:
I specialize in selling pre-owned guitars, which typically show signs of regular use. My commitment to quality is unwavering, and I ensure that any guitar I offer for sale is free from problems, unless explicitly mentioned. With a history of selling guitars dating back to the 1980s, I pride myself on selecting only the finest instruments.
It's important to understand that our shipping fees encompass more than just the cost of the box. I guarantee professional packaging using UPS-approved materials to safeguard your purchase. This typically includes new, heavy-duty boxes rated at 275lbs, 3-inch wide brown fiberglass reinforced tape, ensuring the guitar is well-protected. Additionally, every guitar shipped is fully insured for its sale price.
The guitars are set up according to my personal preferences (Medium Height), and I strictly avoid guitars with neck issues. However, guitar setup is highly subjective, and it is advisable to have it adjusted by a trusted local technician who understands your specific playstyle and preferences.
