1983 Squier JV '62 Vintage Stratocaster – Fiesta Red – Made in Japan
A beautiful and increasingly collectible early Japanese Squier JV Stratocaster from 1983, finished in Fiesta Red with a rosewood fingerboard.
This is an early Squier JV export model, produced in Japan during the highly regarded JV period.
The guitar has recently been carefully inspected, including removal of the pick-guard and neck, to document the original period components and markings. It has subsequently been reassembled and plays very well following a recent setup.

I've included detailed photographs showing the underside of the pick-guard, pickups, electronics, neck heel, neck pocket and body cavities so potential buyers can inspect the components and markings for themselves.
Condition
Very good condition for a guitar of its age, with the expected signs of use and playing over 40 years.
There are some marks, scratches and areas of wear to the finish, but overall the guitar presents extremely well for an instrument from 1983. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
The neck and fingerboard are in good condition and the guitar plays very well with a comfortable action.
It has recently been set up and is ready to play.
Originality
The guitar has been inspected without making any unnecessary modifications. The components examined appear consistent with the specification and construction of an early 1983 Squier JV export model.
I don't want to claim that every individual component is definitively original to the guitar, as I haven't been able to establish the complete component history over its 40+ year life. The detailed photographs are provided so that buyers can make their own assessment.
Included
The guitar will be supplied with a padded gig bag for protection during transport.
No original hard case is included.
Delivery / collection
UK delivery is available using a tracked and insured service. The guitar will be carefully packed to ensure it arrives safely.
Collection from North Yorkshire/York is also welcome.
For collection, I'm happy for the buyer to inspect and play the guitar before completing the purchase.
Please note regarding Reverb's specifications
Reverb's automatically generated product specifications may display some information incorrectly. In particular, the catalogue specification may show "Maple Fretboard", whereas this guitar has a rosewood fingerboard, clearly visible in the photographs.
The photographs and description above relate specifically to the guitar being sold.
