THE STORY

This Charvel 475 wasn’t a pristine collector's item when it arrived at the shop.

It was a late-’80s / early-’90s workhorse that had clearly lived a full life—heavy play wear, finish damage, missing parts, and the kind of scars only decades of use can create. The kind of guitar most people would part out… or forget about entirely.

Instead of restoring it back to factory condition, I chose a different path:

• Lean into the history.
• Respect the wear.
• Turn it into something louder.

Nothing about this guitar pretends to be new.

The original body and neck, produced during Charvel’s 1989–1991 475 run, served as the foundation for a full-custom resurrection.

Existing relic wear from 30+ years of use was preserved and blended into a multi-layer pearl hot-pink relic refinish, transforming into a one-of-a-kind 80s-style stage weapon.

FINISH AND COSMETIC CONDITION

Custom pearl hot-pink relic refinish

Multi-layer color stack underneath: hyper pink/red, lime green, and white

Heavy relic wear throughout the body is consistent with the look

Visible cosmetic wear around:
Lower body edge
Control area

Headstock tip shows prior repair and finish loss

Structurally stable

Cosmetic only

Blends into the relic aesthetic

Overall appearance: road-worn 80s shred machine, not a collector's item.

ELECTRONICS (REBUILT)

All original electronics have been removed and replaced.

Bridge pickup: DiMarzio Super Distortion

Neck pickup: DiMarzio HS-3

Middle pickup: intentionally empty

Creates a true silent kill position with the 3-way switch

Switch: CRL 3-way blade + 500k CTS pots + Orange Drop Cap

Controls: Master Volume + Master Tone

No factory midboost/preamp present

Output jack: Pure Tone mono jack

All wiring redone from scratch

Floyd Rose Special tremolo + Includes burnt chrome upgraded steel components + satin gold trem bar

R3 locking nut

Upgraded clamps and screws

New trem claw and springs installed

Original 475 short dome knobs / turquoise green switch tip

NECK

• Original Charvel maple neck
• Rosewood fretboard with sharkfin inlays
• 25.5" scale, 22 frets
• Frets show light wear with plenty of life remaining.
• Fast, comfortable Charvel feel

SETUP

• Neck relief adjusted
• Full level and crown done within the last few weeks. Board conditioned and cleaned.
• Low, fast action
• Floyd balanced and intonated
• Fresh .010–.046 strings installed
