Vintage 1967 Marshall Super Bass 10,000 Series Plexi Guitar Amplifier Head 1960s
I’m so excited to offer this beauty for sale. A genuine, well-worn example discovered in Scotland — and an absolute monster. This is the rare crossover-era 1967 Super Bass with the chassis factory-drilled for a rectifier valve that was never fitted. This was likely an export model, no voltage selector ever fitted. Comes with the original choke and the original 1202-132 output transformer, which is where the legendary sound is. When it came to me it was fitted with a nasty 1990s mains transformer which I have removed and it's now corrected with a factory-spec replacement by my trusted tech. Inside is a matched quad of Mullard EL34's, and a trio of original Brimar ECC83 preamp valves. It needed a good deal of work when I got it, which my tech has carried out to an incredible standard. it now plays and sounds huge - one of the nicest I've heard for some time. I love these Super Bass circuits, especially the early. Cosmetically it's good, with a replaced logo, IEC socket, and some later knob end caps (the knobs themselves are original though!). It's a truly rare and stunning amplifier, a model that won't come up for sale again for some time. Please see the pictures below as these form part of my description - grab a bargain!
