A revolution in accessibility and ergonomics
The Boden Essential is a true .strandberg* instrument with all the key features that has made it a guitar icon of the 21st century. EndurNeck™ neck profile, supremely low weight, perfect balance, and a wide selection of tonal options. It is the most affordable .strandberg* to date and also features the proprietary EGSA ARC hardware that is as solid as it is intuitive. The Boden Essential 6 is an instrument designed to cater to the needs of aspiring students and professional musicians alike.

Origin
The Essential instruments first saw the light of day in early 2024 and were the fruit of an ambitious project to create a less extravagant instrument that offered demanding players the core values and features associated with .strandberg* Guitars at a more affordable price. The goal was clear from the very beginning. This more affordable model needed to be as light, balanced, comfortable, and great sounding as the .strandberg* name demands, but also simplified in looks and non-critical features that would otherwise compromise the intended position. These are the guitars of choice for players desiring the signature benefits of the .strandberg* design combined with simplified features and a competitive price.

Sound
The core building blocks of the Essential instruments are a 1-piece Roasted Maple EndurNeck with Rosewood fretboard and a solid body made from Meranti, a Southeast Asian hardwood closely resembling Mahogany in tone and appearance. This creates a durable construction with a slightly warmer .strandberg* tone that sits comfortably in the middle of our guitar lineup in terms of sound. The single baseplate EGS ARC hardware forms a strong bond to the body for excellent resonance, while the tried-and-true .strandberg* Custom pickups with diverse switching options provide the wide variety of sounds needed for the diverse modern performer.

Design
The heart of all .strandberg* instruments lie in their ergonomically designed bodies that ensure low weight, perfect balance, and support for multiple playing positions combined with the patented trapezodial EndurNeck neck profile that guides the fretting hand into a more relaxed and efficient playing position. The Essential series comes equipped with all these features but stands out as the only .strandberg* with a straight 25.5” (non-multiscale) scale arrangement. This makes the Essential the most traditional .strandberg* in this respect, with a unique personality characterized by practicality, accessibility, and flawless performance.
