The ADAT inputs were tested. There is a quality digital to analog converter built in via Burr-Brown DACs, so you can bring in 16 tracks of digital audio via ADAT and use the magical analog British EQ on each channel individually. The sound quality is excellent !

At the time, Firewire was a highly marketable technology, thus the prominent "Firewire" label on the mixer, and this mixer indeed has firewire connectivity; however in 2026, it is the ADAT connectivity on this mixer, all sixteen glorious channels of it, that remains highly relevant in music production, especially in conjunction with the stellar analog EQ.

This is not a massive, room-filling mixer. It's approximiately 27" wide, barely more than two feet. Beautifully designed by Allen & Heath, who packed so many features in to so little space.

The analog inputs also all work great. If there is a scratchy switch or pot, just working it stops it. The switches were treated with Deoxit Gold.

A tested, high quality, feature-rich, practical analog mixer from a renown mixer manufacturer. The free shipping is icing on the caking, making this an excellent value.

Note: The firewire was not tested as we have no way to do so. Therefore, we are not guaranteeing the firewire to work.
