Mapleglo, a gorgeous carved quilted maple body with checkerboard binding on the top and back. It’s in very clean condition except all of the hardware is gold plated. You know what? It looks great and it looks factory original (doubtful). The screws, strap buttons, tuners, tuner screws, truss rod cover screws are all gold plated. At the current price of gold at $5000 an ounce, that’s crazy talk.

But wait, there’s more…This came to us with a rats nest of effects built into another gold pickguard. Say what? ECI compressor, Jordan signal boost and Vox boost. They all still work but we removed the nest and repaired the guitar. We simplified things. It has a three way pickup selector with the bridge and middle pickups together for an out of phase sound.

The 381 is discontinued but its history with Rickenbacker and Roger Rossmeisl and his German carve are part of Rickenbacker legend. The middle pickup is likely added. Does that make it a 391?

This is a great example. It’s been restrung and set up. All pots and wiring are clean and recent. It plays great. Comes with the original grey vintage style case. A difficult guitar to find and may take extra time to ship.
