1940's American Microphone Co D5T Microphone, original, working, w/cable & stand

     Offering a vintage 1940's, and very rare model D5T Dynamic Microphone from the American Microphone Company. The American Microphone Company was a microphone manufacturer founded in Los Angeles the '30's, and were best known for producing microphones used in broadcasting and recording. The company ceased operations in the mid-1980s after being sold to several different companies, including Electro-Voice, which eventually retired the brand.

This D5T is a "Bullet-Style" mic that seldom surfaces for sale, particularly with its original working dynamic element. When you hold this mic, it feels like a rock, and that's due to the weighty permanent magnet driving the pickup element. The output is strong, with an audio profile that sounds more like a crystal, favoring midrange with some bass roll-off. (You can hear a voice sample recorded on this mic in the listing video.) This sale includes the short adapter cable, 3 pin male Amphenol plug to male XLR plug, and also includes the basic display desk stand. The standard 5/8" thread mates with any other stand you might choose to you.
