Please read the description carefully and completely. This 1963 Jazzmaster is in players condition. It has been refinished in a sort of Robins egg light blue color. A very attractive combination with the tortoise pick guard. It has also been regretted with much larger frets, which in my opinion has improved the playability of the instrument immensely. The neck date stamp is clearly evident as 4 OCT 63B. To my knowledge, the body, although refinished, is also original. The guitar weighs in at a very reasonable 7lb's 10oz's.
Here are the notable imperfections:
Headstock repair. There is a repaired hairline crack visible on the back of the headstock. on the bottom of the headstock, a circular fill is visible where a dowel was inserted to stabilize the repair.
Looks like the tone control has been replaced. I couldn't see the volume pot well enough to determine its age without intruding more excessively than I would have wanted to.
The headstock decal is defaced. Probably when the repair was attempted.
The neck plate is non-original with no serial number present.
I am not the original owner of this Jazzmaster, so I cannot guarantee the originality of every screw or every wire. I have only owned it for the last 2 years of it's 63 year life. I can only say that it plays and sounds great and everything works as it should.
The guitar will ship with the brand new Fender molded case shown.
A question was posed by a member regarding the originality of the pickups. I have uploaded 2 of 5 pictures I took of the pickups and we both agreed that they do look original. I have never changed them myself, but I have no way to substantiate that they are.
