Adam Jones, phenomenal guitarist of the band Tool, is known for his powerful sound, which he immortalized on groundbreaking albums like "Lateralus," "10000 Days," and "Fear Inoculum." This sound is primarily due to his 1979 Les Paul Custom, which he extensively modified. Based on this legendary Silverburst the Gibson Custom Shop produced various replicas: the V1 and VOS replicas in 2020, as well as the V2 version in 2021. We are delighted to offer you the latter, limited to just 79 specimens. True to the original the Les Paul Custom displays a wonderfully authentic, greenish-aged hue of the Silverburst and the fantastic Light Aging of the Murphy Lab further enhances the guitar's beautiful and above all authentic vintage patina, complete with hairline cracks and only minor imperfections. A perfect match is the exquisite ebony fretboard with block inlays, the design on the back of the headstock by Adam's wife and the chrome hardware that even extends to the toggle switch knob and the classic Sperzel tuners. ...and of course this magnificent instrument is hand-signed by Adam Jones on the back of the headstock! This Les Paul is stunningly well-crafted in every detail, feels fantastic with its comparatively flatter "Custom C" neck profile and simply blows your mind through the amp. The guitar's diverse tonal spectrum is delivered by a reverse-mounted Custombucker in the neck position and a custom-wound Seymour Duncan DDJ in the bridge position. Smacking, fat and powerful as you'd expect from Adam Jones. Yet always beautifully articulate and transparent. Songs like "Pneuma," "Stinkfist" and "The Grudge" just flow effortlessly from your fingers. So, if you're looking for a guitar that's not only a highly sought-after, strictly limited collector's item, but also boasts fantastic tonal power, then this is the one for you. To take the attention to detail to the next level the Gibson Custom Shop even included a Jones-style mirror for the headstock, perfecting the ultimate Tool experience. The previous owner also enhanced the package by adding a miniature replica by Axmann. The case shows minimal signs of wear, which will certainly come as no surprise to connoisseurs of the "Adam Jones" Custom Shop series, as such wear is notoriously unavoidable. However, since this Les Paul Custom comes from a collector the instrument is in mint, virtually unplayed condition.
