Gibson / 1956 J-45
Compared to the same 1956 J-45, the thickness of the binding and black lines on the rosette are different, with this model being thicker and closer to the 1957 model.
A distinctive feature of this guitar is that the truss rod cover is mounted higher than other models of the same era.
This mounting position is consistent with specifications seen in 1957, suggesting that this guitar was manufactured during the transition from 1956 to 1957.
The bridge plate on this guitar is made of maple and has a trapezoidal shape, but it has been reinforced by cracking the bottom side.
This reinforcement ensures stable tuning and allows string vibrations to be more easily distributed across the bridge, improving resonance.
When you shine a black light on the neck heel, you can see the evidence of a neck reset.
This is an important repair because it adjusts the neck angle properly for comfortable playing.
This allows for comfortable string height and easy fingering.
[Comment from person in charge: Hoshino]
Compared to the same 1956 J-45, this one has thicker black binding lines and a thicker white ring on the rosette near the sound hole, suggesting it's closer to the 1957 model.
This is an interesting discovery: a 1956 model with 1957 specifications!
