Versatile Nickel-Plated Steel Produces a Balanced Tone

The nickel-plated steel wrap wire gives the EXL125 set a versatile, balanced tone that works for any genre or playing style. The nickel plating adds warmth and depth, while the steel core provides clarity and definition. Together they create a tone that's not too bright or too warm—one that sits perfectly in the mix for any application.

Hex-Core Technology Ensures Flawless Performance

Like all D'Addario strings, the EXL125 set is built around their proprietary Hex-Core technology. The hexagonal core stabilizes the wrap wire, preventing unwanted movement that can cause tuning instability and dead spots. The result is a string that feels, sounds and performs flawlessly, gig after gig. Consistent tension also means consistent tone and playability along the entire fretboard.
