When it comes to iconic Explorer guitars, there’s one name that immediately comes to mind: James Hetfield.

This Gibson Explorer 80s is a Gibson demo model (demo stamp on the headstock), marked as such due to cosmetic damage on the horn (please see photos). Aside from this, the guitar is in excellent condition and performs exactly as you would expect from a high-end Gibson.

The only reason I am selling this guitar is because I recently purchased the Epiphone 80s Explorer (EMG) as a Metallica fan. Owning two Explorer guitars is simply more than I need, so I’ve decided to let one of them go.

What makes this Gibson especially unique is its limited availability. Since its introduction on the Gibson website as a Gibson-exclusive model, it has been extremely hard to find and was rarely in stock. I personally had to purchase it second-hand because it was virtually unavailable through regular retail channels.
