This Fender Custom Shop Telecaster '52 HS Relic is an instrument that masterfully blends the purest DNA of the original Blackguard with surprising sonic versatility. The lightweight ash body, finished in Butterscotch Blonde relic, instantly delivers the crisp, open, and dynamic response that made early '50s Telecasters legendary. The maple neck, with its firm, natural feel, provides an authentic, lived-in feel, making every note extremely responsive and musical. The HS configuration adds a special character: the single-coil bridge pickup retains all the twang, attack, and definition typical of the Blackguard, while the humbucker neck pickup broadens the tonal palette with fuller, warmer, and more enveloping sounds, perfect for blues, rock, and more modern contexts. The Custom Shop relic isn't just aesthetically pleasing; it also helps give the instrument an immediate sense of familiarity, as if it's been played for decades. A Telecaster with great character, capable of covering vintage and modern territories with a very strong personality
