Up for sale is my personal, like new and incredibly loved, Tobias Prototype Killer B Pre-Gibson 5 - String Bass Guitar.  I personally know Michael from when I lived in Orlando back in the 90s, and I purchased this beautiful guitar from him.  As the title says, it is in mint condition, as it has been on display all of this time, and has only been played a handful of times in my studio.  

This gorgeous bass is a one-of-a-kind prototype guitar (please see letter) that was personally made by Michael in 1992 before it was taken over by Gibson, and the California factory moved to Nashville.  The body is made from presentation grade Zebrawood with Jelutong back. This is the only Killer B guitar with this type of wood configuration, and it was personally autographed by Michael on the back. I have owned many bass guitars throughout the years, but this particular guitar is the embodiment of lutherie at its highest art form; it is a vision carved from rare woods and refined by Mr. Tobias' hands that understands the poetry of resonance.  Its body is a harmony of deep and radiant tones, with a type of Zebrawood that shimmers like burnished fire under light.  The combination of materials that comprise the body of this gorgeous guitar, form a tonal foundation that hums with both authority and grace.  

Running through its heart, the four-piece Maple and Purple Heart neck is a sculpture of strength and precision.  Its surface feels alive beneath the hands, resonant and unyielding, a pillar of stability for the player's every nuance.  Atop it rests a beautifully figured Rosewood fingerboard, a perfect plane for the touch.  The beautiful headstock mirrors the beauty of the body, while the carefully shaped edges lend a sculptural refinement that makes this instrument as visually arresting as it is sonically profound.

The inlaid abalone Tobias logo, radiates a quiet majesty, an emblem that speaks to the brand's legacy of innovation and craftmanship.  On the reverse, the continuous woods are visible, allowing the instrument to remain whole and uninterrupted; a single continuous vision of artistry.

The electronics are the beating heart of this amazing Killer B Prototype, offering a range of tones that move from crystal clarity to earth-deep growl.  With a Master Volume and Pan Between Pickups, the player is invited into a realm of infinite tonal sculpture.  

Finished with black proprietary Tobias tuners, this gorgeous bass weighs 8 pounds, 8 ounces, every ounce a reflection of substance and refinement.  She is designed to be held while standing, and her weight allows for ease of playability.  This gorgeous example of a guitar is not merely an instrument, but a vessel of tone and beauty, crafted for the musician who values not just precision, but the soul of sound itself.  It is a statement of what happens when a craftmanship of this caliber ascends to artistry, and when wood and metal are transfigured into something alive, palpable and ethereal.
