This dreamy Goldtop is a real blues and rock machine. The condition? Mint with very light signs of play. Particularly beautiful is the grain of the mahogany body, which comes into its own on this limited edition thanks to the transparent finish on the back.
It was built in 2010 in the Qingdao factory in China – solid quality, as you know it from this series. The neck is a chunky 50’s profile, sits nicely in the hand and is great fun to play.
The P90s are – as so often with Epiphone – a blast. Nice and open, warm, biting when it has to be. The only important thing: set them up correctly! Especially screw the B-string pole screw in a bit – and it already sounds perfect between humbucker and singlecoil.
The tuners were probably swapped for high-quality Grovers – turns buttery smooth and stays nicely in tune.
