The Gibson 1929 Nick Lucas Special is a tribute to one of the most iconic artist signature models in guitar history. Originally designed for vaudeville star Nick Lucas — one of the first musicians to record solo guitar work — that guitar was Gibson’s first-ever artist signature model, and it became renowned for its compact body paired with an unusually deep depth, offering a sound that is far bigger and richer than its size suggests. This Murphy Lab Light Aged edition faithfully recreates the 1929 model, complete with its distinctive Argentine Grey finish, thermally aged red spruce top, and scalloped X-bracing.
