Built in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, this innovative model expands on the classic Style 18 formula with a newly designed Super D body featuring approximately 20% more internal air volume than a traditional dreadnought. The result is greater bass authority, increased projection, and a wider dynamic range while preserving the unmistakable Martin silhouette.

A solid spruce top paired with genuine mahogany back and sides delivers the focused, woody midrange that has defined the D-18 voice for generations. The additional body volume enhances low-end depth and headroom, making the Super D-18 especially responsive for modern flatpicking, powerful strumming, and stage performance.

Tone & Performance

The Super D-18 is designed to deliver the familiar articulation of a mahogany dreadnought with noticeably greater power and responsiveness. Martin’s forward-shifted Golden Era scalloped X-bracing, similar to the bracing architecture used on the Modern Deluxe Series, allows the spruce top to move more freely. This produces strong projection, quick note attack, and excellent clarity across the entire tonal spectrum.
