The body features ash wood with a white satin finish, constructed in a Thinline-style semi-hollow design, with the center block left intact and both sides chambered. Paired with a CuNiFe® Wide Range Humbucker mounted in a specially machined original aluminum escutcheon, the neck position delivers a thick, warm, and rich tonal character.

For the bridge position, Yamauchi drew inspiration from his beloved 1954 Telecaster, while pursuing greater output and presence. The guitar is equipped with a Custom Wired Vintage Style Single Coil Tele pickup, developed specifically for this model. In a bold and unconventional design choice, and in keeping with Yamauchi’s insistence on the Telecaster’s direct string-to-pickup response, a Telecaster bridge assembly is mounted directly onto a Stratocaster-style body, further enhancing attack and clarity.

The neck profile is also based on Yamauchi’s 1954 Telecaster, offering a substantial feel while employing a narrower nut width for improved comfort and playability.

To support seamless transitions from rhythm to lead playing, the guitar is fitted with a direct neck pickup switch, allowing instant access to the neck pickup regardless of selector position. This feature, along with the unique construction and electronics, makes this instrument a highly original and purpose-built signature model.
