At the heart of the 817e SB’s voice is its pairing of a torrefied Sitka spruce top with Honduran rosewood back and sides. Torrefied spruce provides the seasoned warmth and responsiveness of a well-aged instrument, while Honduran rosewood, one of the densest and most resonant tonewoods available, generates a lush, overtone-rich sound with piano-like clarity. Taylor’s V-Class bracing, applied with hot hide glue, ensures long, blooming sustain and impeccable intonation across the fretboard.
