Silvertone Aristocrat Sunburst
One of the The first of the post-war guitars to come out of Chicago is this 1946 model (fret markers were changed in later years) Kay -made "Aristocrat" acoustic archtop.
Spruce top, maple back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, inlaid fret markers, bound front and back.
A really solidly built instrument, huge body gives plenty of volume, action is easily playable up the neck. although, it guitar might needs good set up again.
Some of the photos actually show some of the work that this old guitar required to get back to playing condition. Removed back, replaced bad braces, reglued all loose parts, A little glue, spit and polish, some new strings and this old gal really sings. All this work was performed several years ago and l've been playing it since with no issues.
There are some scars and finish loss from almost 80 years of use but overall finish is very nice. A really striking looking guitar with tons of character. No pick guard.
Located in Columbus Ohio and am happy for local pick up.
Selling due to downsizing the collection.
