About This Listing

Up for sale is a really nice '80, pre-Ernie Ball Musicman Sabre Bass. As a lefty, this is a rare find. I purchased this bass earlier this spring as a project, and a project it was. I had the neck professionally planed & refretted, including a PLEK dress at Glaser Instruments in Nashville. The fingerboard was of course refinished in the process. Also, at some point before I owned it, someone had installed some sort of onboard wireless system, which has all been professionally reversed, so now the controls are back to the way they originally operated. There are two plugged holes from added switches in the control plate and a small LED on the control plate as a result of this former modification. None of this any longer affects playability, durability or anything else regarding the function of this bass. The mute system was also redone, as the foam was all worn off. It plays, sounds and looks incredible. This Sabre has a lot of finish checking & patina as a result of its age, but it's truly a stunner and has vibe for weeks. Selling in the continental USA ONLY. No case included, but it will of course be packed & shipped with care. Thanks for looking. This rare player will make some fellow lefty extremely happy.
