2026 Del Toro Corrida – Rare 1-Piece Swamp Ash Nitro / Brazilian rosewood fingerboard

The Corrida is about immediacy—fast response, open resonance, and a feel that stays out of the way. This beautiful example is built around a rare one-piece swamp ash body, paired with a comfortable, familiar neck carve and a bold, expressive pickup set, resulting in a guitar that feels alive the moment you plug in.

The swamp ash body delivers exceptional resonance, strong note fundamentals, and clear string-to-string definition. One-piece swamp ash of this quality is increasingly difficult to source, and it brings a sense of cohesion and liveliness you can feel immediately in the hands. Finished in nitrocellulose lacquer, the grain is left visible and honest, allowing the guitar to age naturally over time. At just 7 lbs 3 oz, the Corrida is lightweight, resonant, and well balanced.

The neck strikes a balance between vintage feel and modern playability. A maple neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is carved into a comfortable medium C profile, measuring approximately .85" at the 1st fret and .92" at the 12th. A 8-12" compumd radius and 6105 fretwire make bends smooth and controlled, while the 1.68" bone nut and 25" scale length give the Corrida a slightly slinkier, more relaxed feel than a traditional 25.5" instrument—fast, responsive, and easy to live with.

Electronics lean bold and dynamic. A matched set of Custom Fralin P-90s—wound to approximately 6.5k (neck) and 8.5k (bridge)—delivers a wide tonal range with strong mids, articulate highs, and plenty of punch. The neck pickup stays warm and vocal, while the bridge adds bite and clarity without becoming brittle. Wired passive with 250k pots and a .015µF tone capacitor, the control layout stays simple and musical, encouraging you to shape tone from the guitar and your hands rather than switches.

Hardware is classic and dependable. A Graph Tech ResoMax Sonic 1 bridge anchors sustain and precise intonation, paired with Kluson tuners and nickel hardware throughout.

The Corrida isn’t trying to be everything—it’s built to respond. Open, articulate, and expressive, it’s a guitar that rewards touch and dynamics and feels equally at home clean, edge-of-breakup, or pushed.
