The piece ia in excellent condition. The glass facade has no cracks or defects. Non smoking enviro. No original double carton but will be packed very well. The original manual is mint. The HR10 Remote has corrosion free battery well. The front of the remote shows little signs of wear. Comes with DIN cable. Works as it did when new.

I'm selling the pieces together, as they came because I have no room for gear that I restore and move on to another appreciative audiophile.

The McIntosh PC-1 and CR10 are components of a vintage whole-home audio system: the CR10 is the central remote control system for multi-zone audio, while the PC1 is its companion 14-outlet power controller, designed to sequentially power on/off connected McIntosh amplifiers and other accessories based on commands from the CR10, ensuring proper startup and shutdown order for a multi-room setup. The PC1 has switched outlets for amps/accessories and always-on outlets, all managed via a control cable connected to the CR10.

McIntosh CR10 Remote Control System

Function: A multi-zone controller for 2-4 areas, managing audio sources (CD, Tuner, Tape, Video, Aux) and power.

Features: Digital volume, source selection, power indicators, and ports for expansion modules (ACM-1).

Role with PC1: Sends signals via a special cable to the PC1 to control power.

McIntosh PC1 AC Power Line Distributor

Function: A sophisticated power strip that intelligently manages power for your audio system.

Outlets: 14 total: 4 for power amps (switched by zone), 5 for audio accessories (switched by program), 2 for video accessories (switched by video), and 3 always-on.

Connection: Uses a control cable (often DIN connector) to link to the CR10 for coordinated power sequencing.

How They Work Together

You select an area and source on the CR10 remote.

The CR10 sends a signal through the control cable to the PC1.

The PC1 then switches on the appropriate power amplifier and accessories for that zone in the correct sequence.

In essence, the CR10 is the brain, and the PC1 is the coordinated power switchboard, both crucial for a fully integrated vintage McIntosh multi-room system.
