The Ibanez AM73G Artcore takes that classic semi-hollow vibe and shrinks it into a sleek, comfortable double-cut that feels instantly familiar in your hands. With its black finish and compact body, it’s built for players who want the airy response of a semi-hollow without the bulk of a full-size jazz box.

Features

This AM73G keeps things focused and player-friendly. The AM-style semi-hollow body gives you that open, resonant character, but its smaller footprint sits closer to your body and makes long sets and tight stages feel easy. The double-cutaway layout gives you straightforward upper-fret access, so you can actually use the whole neck instead of just staring at those high frets.

Ibanez’s Artcore design is all about giving you a familiar semi-hollow feel that responds to your picking hand. Dig in and it pushes back with a bit of acoustic bloom; back off and it smooths out for more relaxed lines. The 6-string setup keeps things traditional and intuitive, ready for everything from chord-heavy rhythm work to melodic lead lines.

Tone

Plugged in, this AM-series Artcore leans into that semi-hollow sweetness: open and airy, with a touch of natural resonance that makes chords feel bigger and single notes feel more vocal. It’s got enough bite for punchy riffs and defined lead work, but there’s a smooth, rounded edge that flatters clean tones, edge-of-breakup crunch, and more laid-back, expressive playing. It’s the kind of guitar that reacts to your touch and rewards dynamics, whether you’re comping, riffing, or stretching out on a solo.
