CONDITION: The gloss nitro lacquer Sunburst finish is 100% original, exhibiting subtle vertical checking. There is light wear on the back and some small dings and light finish scratches on the body. The only changes we can mention is the Tuner Buttons and the Switch Tip. The PIckups, wiring, bridge and case are all original.
This is an amazing Golden Era Gibson, well worth the price and would enhance any Stage, Studio or Collection.
The neck profile exhibits a bit of palm wear and a few shallow marks, buffed smooth through use.The original brown Lifton hardshell case is included; the handle is intact and all latches are functional.
Introduced in 1956, the Gibson ES-225TD was the dual-pickup version of Gibson's first thinline hollowbody electric guitar. It is highly regarded by collectors as a "golden era" vintage bargain, bridging the gap between traditional jazz archtops and the semi-hollow designs like the ES-335 that followed.

- Pickups: Two P-90 single-coil pickups with black "dog-ear" covers.
- Body: 16-inch wide, fully hollow thinline body (approx. 1 7/8" deep) made of laminated maple.
- Neck: Solid mahogany neck with a 24.75" scale length and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard featuring pearl dot inlays.
- Hardware: Most models featured a unique Les Paul-style wrap-under trapeze tailpiece, though some 1959 models used a standard trapeze with a floating bridge.
- Electronics: 3-way toggle switch with independent volume and tone controls for each pickup
