One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet.  S/n 72XXX makes it an early 1962.  It is in excellent condition:  wood is a nice billet of aged grenadilla with a nice, tight, straight grain.  Small repaired cracks in the bell socket and lower tenon, sealed nicely, almost completely invisible, and none are weight bearing so they should never be a problem.  Tenons are square with no wobble between joints.  Nickel silver keys rather than plated.  Best of all, this one has just been through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, had all new tenon corks installed, and was repadded with Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double bladder, pressed felt pads and Ferree’s premium cork pads.  Plays easily across the entire instrument with just the normal Buffet quirks, a huge and very dark tone, and little resistance.  Key oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a new ProTec microfiber cloth, new SuperSlick chamois swab, and a vintage Selmer Tray Pack case.  Note that we have other bells, barrels, cases, case covers and hundreds of mouthpieces available separately.  A great clarinet for players who prefer the early R13 feel, and more than $2,500 less than new!
