Up for grabs is a used light medium relic'd 1996 Fender white (slightly aged) 3 ply (w/b/w), 13 hole P Bass Pickguard + wired CTS 250K audio Volume and CTS 250K Tone controls with 0.047µF capacitor & jack. Also comes with used white VOLUME and TONE knobs and 13 used nickel finish screws. NO heel truss rod adjustment notch. The back side of this pickguard is stamped May 09 1996 (see close-up picture # 2).
- Some people might feel that it's in medium relic'd condition.
Fully functional. The pots are NOT scratchy. The wires connections are fine / secure.
In picture # 3 and picture # 16 - the front side of this pickguard looks duller than it looks like in peson. The front side has a gloss / shine (as seen in pictures # 1, 10 to # 15, and # 17). In some of the pictures of the front side there is a white glare / reflection from the room's lightling.
The Back Side does have a mattte / flat / dull apperance when view in person.
Even though this pickguard does NOT have the heel truss rod adjustment notch. You can still install this pickguard on a Mexi or US Fender P Bass (that uses 13 mounting holes) and that has a truss rod that gets adjusted at the heel. You (or your guitar tech) would just have to take off (or loosen) the strings and take off pickguard to make truss rod adjustments.
And even though this is a Fender Mexi P Bass pickguard - it can be installed on some US Fender P basses that have 13 pickguard mounting holes and that have the truss rod adjusted at the headstock.
This pickguard came off of a 1994 Fender Mexi P bass - but pickguard is dated / stamped May 09 1996.
- I'm not the original owner of the Fender Mexi P Bass that this pickguard came off of. So I dont know the reason for the date difference. It's possible that the previous owner put a different pickguard with controls & jack on the bass that I took this pickguard off of.
- When I have a chance I check the date on the heel of the neck and on the body - this way I can have a more accurate year of the bass that the pickguard with controls came off of (Bass NOT included / NO other parts included).
Anyway - the pickguard is offically dated / stamped May 09, 1996 (so it's great used pickguard if you are looking for this style, color Fender P bass pickguard from 1996 with what is on it and in this condition).
- And for those of you are are not that picky about the exact year of used Fender mid to late 1990s Mexi P bass PICKGUARD (which can also be used on some year / model Fender US P basses) - it's just a two year difference (and this pickguard & whats's on it are still from the same series Fender Mexi Standard P Bass series).
Since the back side of the CTS Volume & Tone pots have solder & wires over them. Some of the imprinted info on them is not visible - so I cannot get the dates of the pots. But their values are visible. Both are CTS 250K A (audio) pots. Please refer to close-up pictures # 6 and # 7 to see the info that's visible on the pots.
FRONT SIDE of PICKGUARD: Used, light medium relic'd condition.
- On many areas - there are several very light & light hair-line surface scratches (some of them are a litte deeper). I was not able to take picture that show all of them. Feel free to ask for more pictures - can take more pictures for you in a different light(at a different time of the day or night (from when I took the pics seen in this listing).
- It also has a couple of no too big not too short wide vertical line scuffs from the strings rubbing against some area of the pickguard - located at / on the upper center area, upper left area, middle center area, and middle left area.
- The area near the controls has a few tiny nicks.
- The area to the right of the lower pickup route has not too long / not too short vertical cloudy streak with some light scratches & tiny nicks near & over it.
- The left side of the pickguard (especially the mid left area and the areas to the left of the upper & lower pickup routes) is more cloudy / dull & has ligth discoloration (from the type of scratches & light scuffs these areas have) than the middle and right areas (which have lighter & different scatches & less scuffs).
- The white color of the TOP SIDE has slighty aged. But overall - it's still generally a regular white color. You can see the white color difference of The Top Side compared to the white paper.
The 3 ply main outer edges, the neck ares edges, and the pickup route edges are fine.
BACK SIDE of PICKGUARD: The white color is an aged white color - so the lower white ply is an aged white color. As you can see - it's stamped P/G (in gray), it's dated May 09 1996 (in red) with the initial G (written in blue pen). The center left area has a very small piece of masking tape. The Back Side is generally clean with a couple of very light cloudy line surface scratches / scuffs and a few not too serious surface imperfections.
KNOBS: Each knob has a few very light & light hair-line scratches on the top side. The ridges on the outer sides have some residue. I can clean them upon request.
The two POTS are fine / clean
The CAPACITATOR is fine.
The JACK is the big style / size. It's a quality jack. The nut and washer have visibe rust and discoloration / oxidation. The top edge of what s visibe of the threaded part of the jack has oxidation. Please let me know if you prefer a cleaner nut & washer.
The WIRES are black and white PVC covered. The wires are fine.
The SCREWS are used (the original ones). Some of the screws are still generally clean and some of the screws have light visible aging / light discoloration
I have the pickups [used relic'd (from real player's wear, use, & age) Fender Black Split-Coil Mexican Standard Precision Bass pickups, Alnico 5, 10.5k fully functional (silver screws included - also relic'd) from 1994 Mexican Fender Standard P Bass (Bass NOT included)] listed in this Reveb listing:
And I have the used lightly relic'd Fender Mexican P Bass Vintage Style BRIDGE full assembly Chrome (from 1994) also included is a used set of D'Addario bass strings in this other Reverb listing:
I took several pictures of this pickguard + the controls with knobs & jack on it. And a few pictures show the screws. Feel free to ask for more pictures.
