The Lowden WL-35J 2024 acoustic guitar impressively combines luxurious materials with an immediately appealing, dynamic sound. Lowden has once again created a crossover model that combines the depth and rich bass of high-quality rosewood with the quick response and crystalline clarity of an alpine spruce top. The result is a sound that is convincing in terms of breadth and complexity as well as subtle nuances: powerful, well-contoured basses, sparkling trebles and a direct, musical response that is immediately integrated into the playing action.
The five-piece mahogany neck provides additional stability, a rich mid-range response and smooth playability; the GL jazz profile and 610 mm scale length make the guitar particularly comfortable for modern playing styles. Visually and in terms of craftsmanship, the WL-35J impresses with a fine abalone rosette, Tasmanian blackwood binding and purfling made of rocklite/maple/mahogany. Also valuable: a precise ebony fingerboard, Gotoh Classical Gold tuners with ebony buttons and a discreet, transparent pickguard that does not detract from the elegant aesthetics.
Technically, this specimen is superbly equipped: a solid Alpine spruce top, sides and back made from selected rosewood, a rosewood bridge, 58 mm string spacing at the bridge, a nut width of 48.2 mm and high-quality LR Baggs Anthem electronics for natural amplification. The workmanship is flawless, the natural satin finish emphasizes the wood structure and the fine details.
The condition of this Lowden WL-35J is exceptionally clean; it has been exemplary cared for and shows only minimal signs of use. The guitar comes in its original case and with the original papers.
